0 Hingham, MA Hingham, MA Full-time Full-time $45,000 a year $45,000 a year SELA Elementary Co-Teacher provides a developmentally appropriate educational program for students in the appropriate elementary grade.
The teacher is responsible for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, professional staff, and administrators to improve instruction; and engaging parents/guardians in conversations regarding instructional programs and student progress.
In our School Co-teaching is a collaborative approach to instruction in which two teachers, work together to plan and then implement instruction for a class.
Co-teachers will be evaluated to be primary teachers the next school year.
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree Elementary Education.
Experience with K-5th grade students in private school setting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Creative, real world & hands-on teaching style Adaptable, show empathy, patience.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited To):
Creates and maintains an effective and developmentally appropriate learning environment for all children in classroom.
Represent SELA Mission, Vision & Values.
Manages student behavior to provide a safe and optimal classroom climate.
Participates in a variety of meetings and professional development activities to improve instruction.
Assesses student progress towards learning targets, objectives, and expectations.
Collects data to document student progress and aid in planning.
Provides feedback on progress to students, parents, and administration.
Holds parent conferences to discuss individual student progress.
Instructs students in English language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, and Social Emotional learning.
Prepares daily lessons and activities.
Consistent and on-time attendance is required for supervision and instruction of the students.
Provides targeted intervention to close student learning gaps.
Differentiates for the purpose of providing an effective program that addresses individual need.
Collaborates with instructional staff and colleagues to improve student outcomes.
Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve social, emotional and learning problems.
Follows specific standards, policies, and procedures of the building and the district.
Attends and participates in faculty meetings & school events (which can be out of work schedule) Consistent, reliable and punctual attendance is essential for supervision and instruction of the students.
Responsible for implementing other job-related duties as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to lift and/or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
